    Default A hand from tonight

MP2 has been a maniac. BB hasn't been much better. Both have been showing shit hands after taking down a pot with a big raise. I have been tight and waiting for the right moment to strike.

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    MP1 ($23.90)
    MP2 ($22.45)
    Hero ($24)
    CO ($25)
    Button ($24.65)
    SB ($23.90)
    BB ($93.95)
    UTG ($24.75)
    UTG+1 ($24.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A, K. CO posts a blind of $0.25. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
    1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.5, 3 folds, BB calls $1.25, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $1.25.

    Flop: ($5.35) 9, K, Q (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $5, BB raises to $40, MP2 folds, Hero ?????

You have him read to maniac that overbets and you have TPTK with a backdoor flush draw. you are quite possibly good here... seeing as I looked at your stack after I saw the bet amount, you are good to call the all-in based on your read. Even maniacs don't check/raise the flop with a flopped straight/2pr/set

His bet reeked of weakness. To me it said, "I'm so great, I have $90 in front of me. I can throw down $40 and still have $50 left over." I called.

    Turn 2s
    River Qh

Cards turn over and he has AQo. I guess he put me on an A and thought my pot sized bet was trying to buy the pot. So much for 95% to win after the turn.

That was the right call based on your read and the situation. You got a bad beat from a good play.
