Default What would you have done?

Well after a long learning period on freerolls etc. I finally made a $50 deposit and was fortunate enough to double my money over a short time at very low stake tables and small stake tourneys. I'm losing at times also and should really pay attention to the fact that I don't play well when tired or stressed. Here's a recent hand I had playing at a the tiniest of table stakes. I'd put about $5 at the table to start.Holdem NL ,BB-10c.

This fellow CHKRAISALLIN was one of those who bluffed a lot and liked to make the point of showing his hand everytime he did bluff. I thought if he did have the straight it was a rather excessive bet. What would you have done?

I would marginally CALL. You have $12, and his image suggest you're ahead. You also have an OESD so you could do worse than an overpair and a monster draw.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I'd call in that instance. The only hand I'd worry about is the nut straight, but that would be JQ and you have two of the jacks, so it's less likely. I'd actually guess he was on the flush draw, or else why would he roar in like that? Unless there's a lot of silly calling going on, a massive overbet like that is just going to lose him money.

Get busy winning or get busy folding...

I was in a tournament the other day and almost an identical situation where another player kept betting me (though I had 2nd best pair). His bets on the flop & turn were too good of odds to turn down and I hit my straight on the river and check raised his ass for a monster pot.
Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.
