Default advantages/Disadvantages to playing NL HoldEm Before Limit?

I know that there are many opinions on which style is better to play first before the other, but as either a lilmit player who now plays mainly NL, or vice versa, what disadvantages or advantages come from playing one type before the other?

Side Note: I'm a NL looking to play limit, but looking for responses either way.

The most noticable different is that in limit, most hands are shown down, therefore you need a stronger starting hand to win a pot, especially at low levels. NL 1/2 or lower is preety much the same thing, most hands are shown down, but at higher levels, most never reach showdown because at that point, most of your money will be in the pot.

I don't think there's any disadvantage. You're learning two different games played two completely different ways, and just as difficult to master. It's not like limit is the little leagues before you graduate to no limit.

if you're going to switch to limit, get ready to learn what "long term" really means

You could play perfect poker over 10k hands and still see piss poor or just above average results.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

No, not really. Limping on the button with JTo is EV+ in limit. I fail to see how that would be EV+ in NL25
