On the bubble, 10xBB is the generally accepted point at which you go into push/fold mode. When you get to heads up, at how many BB do you start push/folding? I was decent heads up on Stars, but I suck bad at Party...

i start pushing every small blind when i have 10bb (or my opponent has less than 10bb). usually people fold too much, and if they call, your 74o isn't that much of a dog.

Heads up all depends on the opponent. I generally opt for balls-to the-wall aggression. generally if the blinds are to the point that a standard raise is going to commit more than a quarter of my stack, I just push

The thing that brought this question up is that, surprisingly, so far on Party I'm getting to heads up with lower blinds than at Stars. I tend to just bleed chips until I have 10BB and can push.

I don't think pushing is necessary w/10bb. Many players will fold heads up to a 3bb raise (they often have no better than Q high and are out of position) and push over only based on their own holdings. Find out if your opp. folds too much and go from there (if they do then there is no need to risk your whole stack to take the blinds). Getting the right read on your competition is more important than following a strict set of guidelines. That said, if it takes ai to get them out, then push any 2. If they are pushing every time you limp in, then limp the first 2 face cards or A/K high you get and call their push. |
