The board paired... How do you get away from it? Fold.
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?

At 25 and 50 NL i will pay off the boat there because in the long run i think you'll see more hands like 9 and strong kicker. Or 9 + strait draw. At 100 NL i don't know, but does anything besides a boat raise your turn bet? Especially with the other guy calling behind you, i don't think i push in your spot. Maybe call and hope for a cheap river, but you're OOP so little chance of that. I guess there are players who would fold this reutinely but i'm not one of them, tough hand.

Check turn. Let him value bet the river. Don't re-raise with a straight on a paired board.
Dealer: bencathers has two pair, Aces and Deuces
Dealer: Tbags has two pair, Kings and Jacks
Dealer: Tbags finished the tournament in 256th place

My sentiments exactly. Seek a cheap showdown or fold.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Suppose you check behind on the turn. The pot is about $15. What do you do in each of these river situations?

    1. OFFSUITJ/2: checks
    2. OFFSUITJ/2: bets $2
    3. OFFSUITJ/2: bets $8
    4. OFFSUITJ/2: bets $15

I don't see option 1 viable because villian is going to want to try to extract some value... unless hero has a very aggressive image at the table.

I'd call 2 and 8. The rest are very read dependent on the opponent

Here's my deal: When the board pairs and you have connecting cards on the board i.e. T9 or 89 I run for the hills. People will play any suited connector. A full house is likely with that board.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

He just nearly min-reraised not one but TWO players. That screams monster-that-I-want-paid-off.

Only an idiot check-raises on a paired board this coordinated without a full house. Either fold on the turn or if you insist on showing down the hand, call and check-call a reasonable bet on the river.
