    The lesson?

I don't know. Probably something along the lines of "just because someone pushes against you and you have to fold a pretty good hand, doesn't mean he has nothing when he raised a few hands later"

Which can probably be summarized to: "dont play poker like a dick"

I did come away from the session +$70 though so dont feel too bad for me.

At some point, in order to advance yourself as a player, emotion has to be taken completely out of the equation. This isn't a game of revenge or small insignificant moral victories. This is a long term game where the best player takes the other guys stack over time. Small chunks through good reads and focused aggression, and then big bites in action hands where you're ahead.

Now if you wanted to try to bluff him out, you could have bet $10-$12. He would have pushed and you would have known your unimproved AK wasn't cutting it. Such a drastic overbet usually contains some money without a purpose. Usually the majority of it.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Thanks for commenting Rondavu. Even though it was a bit of a "doh. look at me on tilt" topic, it's good to hear an opinion.

    The turning point was

    Villain: "i knew you'd fold"

    Pathetic really isn't it?

In all honesty I didn't think my action through at all, went all in on a reflex assuming he had nothing, and paid the price.
