Default Should I buy a new motherboard?

I have a relatively old PC lying around at the moment. At the moment I'm running everything off my laptop, which is alright, but can't be upgraded.

My PC has one of those all built in motherboards, so I can't get a new graphics card in there.

Is it worth buying a new motherboard? Or new desktop.

depending on how old things are in your machine, you might want to go all new.

buy the pieces seperately and build from scratch.

If you buy a new mobo, your old ram might not be compatible, or cause a bottleneck. If you have the money, ante up.

I recommend not buying from scratch unless you like doing extra work.

buying from scratch go from www.newegg.com for all the best prices - if you want a machine that will scream and be kick ass for quite awhile id say about 900 maybe 800. If you want one that will do everything you need it to except play games at max res with awesome frame rates - maybe like 500-600 or less

its not hard to do if your not dumb - it all comes with directions with pictures lol and you could have a computer completely in parts into a complete computer in less than 2 hours probably

ive put together 3 from scratch and the only problem I ever had was a pin that bent on a cpu but i fixed it very carefully with a razor

asus boards have this stuff built in where if you put together anything wrong and it doesnt work when you push power - just plug in a speaker into the speaker port on the mother board and a robot voice will come on and tell you exactly what is failing - then you can just figure it out from there - thats how i knew a cpu pin was bent cause it was failing to start the cpu
