    Hows my play here?

Ok before the barrage of posts saying "fold preflop" please notice that I am posting a new player blind and would never play this hand under any other circumstance.

The turn push is really terrible.

It doesn't help me to say my play is terrible.
Perhaps an explanation of what makes my play terrible would help me improve my play (obviously the goal of me posting the hand).

Anyways, I wasn't worried about the heart draw. He wouldn't have reraised on the flop with a heart draw. Conceivably the only hands that beat me were sets and top two. I pushed because I was happy taking the hand down right then and there and didn't want to see the river with 6 outs to have a counterfeit hand.

At the showdown villain flipped over a replica of my hand and we split.

I would just fold the flop. You just arrived at the table, you don't have a lot money invested, and he 3-bet the flop. After the flop you should just call it down if you want to see what he has. DON"T PUSH, because on the flop he was very strong. Your hand isn't a monster.

it's unlikely but not impossible that he would re-raise the flop with a heart draw

the turn push is bad because you get folds from a lot of hands that you could get some more value out of like KQ/KJ (river q notwithstanding), and it's unlikely you get called by any hand you beat except maybe 54s or something (or once in a blue moon K4 apparently...).

Seeing as how he 3-bet you on the flop I go to check-call mode on the turn.

I pushed because the pot was around two third's of villain's stack. I was reasonably sure I had the better hand and that he had top pair. With the pot at about 9 dollars and Villain's stack at 15, I figured it'd be dumb to raise him at all with-out putting him all in. Any other raise would have him--- and me--- pot committed, so all our chips were going in. Calling was probably a better move.

Flop play is questionable. Folding is on the conservative side, but fine. Since I have position, I would lean towards calling. Don't raise the turn like that. Just call and hope to showdown cheap.
