    Default Desktop resolution

I have a question for the geeks.

I have a dual monitor setup on my Dell computer with an aftermarket ATI Radeon 9250 PCI video card. One of my monitors is the original Dell VGA 15 inch (which I use for normal tasks) and the other is a new KDS 19 inch flat panel VGA (which I use for poker).

Unfortunately, I can only bring my 19 inch monitor up to 1280x1024 resolution, which isn't enough to run four tables w/o overlap.

Is there a program I can download to be able to increase my resolution higher?

Nope, you need a bigger lcd. A 20inch minimum. Smaller crt monitor (like the old 17" I had) could go into 1600x1200, but it was hellish hard on the eyes

I think 19" LCDs can only do a maximum of 1280x1024 - but check the specification of your model to be sure. CRTs can run higher resolutions, and my 19" CRT does 1920x1440.

You can get 19" LCD's that will run at 1600 x 1200, but you pay a very big premium for it. After you find a 19" that will run at that res, you might as well pony up another $75 or so and get a 20" or 21"

is there no "virtual desktop" program that allows you to run a larger resolution? I have seen programs where you can have multiple desktops that you switch between, but that isn't very practical for poker.

Multiple desktop programs don't work at all for poker, as it seems to put poker clients on both desktops when they alert for your turn to act, so they make no difference at all.
