    Default B&M Hand

1/2 NL, lotta money on the table for a 1/2 game, i'm chip leader witha bout 1000, second in chips has about 800, third 500, and etc.

i'm dealt 89o in LP, so i limp, button who's pretty solid, does some tricky plays, raises to 17 OTB, lotta limpers about 5, his first raise like that, so screaming QQ-AA. 3 callers ahead, so i call for pot odds. flop comes 9 6 5. i lead out for 45 into a 60 pot, button reraises all in for about 200 more. all fold to me. i'm looking at it this way, gettin almost 2:1, for about 9 outs, 9x4=36+1=37% to hit. i think i mis counted my outs actually playing, i thought i was gettin 11 outs. so actually 45% when i was playing. i had a lotta money in front, so willing to gamble. i call.

    what's your line here?

ahhh, no fun. you also chance of AK cause there were 4 or 5 limpers ahead ofhim, trying to narrow field.

fold preflop. fold to the raise. check the flop. fold to the bet.

on the other hand..... two weeks ago i was at a b&m and we were playing our last orbit. So i was limping every hand because i was getting bored playing less than 20% of hands. So, I limp 89o !!!!!!! flop comes 3 5 7. 4 limpers. $10 pot. $5 bet, I call, one more caller. Pot is $25. turn comes 6c with 2 clubs on board, but i have the nuts. utg bets $15, one caller, I raise to $40. utg calls, guy on his left raises all in for another $180. I push all in. utg folds. he flips over A4c (gut straight and nut flush draw) and misses his club.

    I win a $500+ pot with 89o.

That being said, fold fold fold.

    Starting hands are over-rated.

But I wouldn't suggest limping 89o every opportunity.

You're gambling here, at best your play is marginal depending on your ability to out-play the other players and the amount of rake taken.

Preflop and opening on the flop aside, you're not getting 2:1 you're getting 2:3. If you were actually getting 2:1, then yeah you should call, but as it stands you should fold. If you had a read on your opponent and thought there was at least a 10% chance your opponent would do this with 2 overcards, then calling would be profitable.

    lol 2:3
its hard to have to call 1.5X what's in the pot in order to show down...
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.
