Default Out of line river AI reraise

No reads, villain just sat down and posted the blind. What do you make of this story?

    Cryptologic
    No Limit Holdem Ring game
    Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
    8 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    Hero: $24.75
    CO: $20

    Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP1 with 7 7
2 folds, Hero calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, BB checks.

    Flop: 7 J K ($0.95, 4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.7, MP2 folds, CO calls, BB folds.

    Turn: A ($2.30, 2 players)
    Hero bets $1.85, CO calls.

    River: 2 ($5.80, 2 players)
    Hero bets $3.5, CO raises all-in $17.2, Hero ???

I don't buy the straight. The flush has me somewhat concerned as I'm up against a random hand. Two pair may do this. I don't see a fold here. Anyone?

    I call.

Only hand that beats you that makes sense with villain's line is a flush. If he did have the flush most of the time villain would raise for value and not push. That push looks like he is trying to use the river as a scare card.

I'd say you are definately ahead here often enough to make a call +EV

    It depends.

I've made folds like this before and been shown better hands.

Given the circumstances, I think I look him up.

This very common read makes pushing with the made flush a potentially very profitable play for a thinking player. I fold or call here depending, but unknowns make me nervous.

Yea a thinking player can exploit this read but at 25NL I don't think we see this move by villain (with a made flush) too often.

Having no read, since it's first hand with this guy, hurts us here. I call here still but its a nervous call.

Yeah, Kdxd looks possible, given how passive he's been.

I called, hoping I wasn't up against someone who'd read AOK's counterplay stuff

    I expected 2 pair or a flush.

He turned over QQ. Initially I thought, "Man, what was he thinking?". Now that I think about it, I probably would've folded 2 pair and almost certainly a K with that board. Pretty good bet and not a bad play, upon further reveiw. How say you?

    no one expects QT here??
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I thought about it, but why wouldn't he raise the turn if he hit the straight? He can't expect to get paid off much on the river no matter what comes off, so the turn is the only street where he's going to get any more money off me. Even if he were counterplaying, he'd make his big bet on the turn, wouldn't he?
