    Default too aggresive with TPTK?

when i joined the table sasrs stack was something like $130 so hes down a bit, ive taken a bit of $$$ from him, he rarely raises always check/calls so it was hard to put him on a hand, tho im pretty positive he would have lead out on the flop if he had j, i initially put him on a flush draw when he called the flop but on the turn when he called my $16 bet into a $20 pot i was unsure...

what hand do you think he can call with? if he doesn't have a J, he either called with some random hand and hit a K and has you beat, had you beat on the flop, or will now fold his 9 or FD here. Even if you've changed your mind and he does have the J, you beat QJ/JT... J8. I'm not feeling it.

i check behind on turn. the K is kinda scary and the hands you are still ahead of aren't usually calling another bet anyway.

my river action depends on how safe the card and what he does.

as you start moving up in stakes, you will realize that TPTK is only good for catching bluffs and stacking complete donks.

I don't see any worse hands calling that bet, so a river check is in order. If he thought his QJ/TJ was good then the K definitley has to scare him. This is a really thin value bet, if you put him on a flush draw betting the river is unnessecary.

yep, as soon as i posted this hand and went over it i realized that there was absolutely no point in betting the river...
he folded on the river in case any1 wanted to know.

an obvious question but im interested in your answer anyway, why did you pot the turn?

well when he checked/called the flop then checked again on the turn i was sure that he was drawing to the flush, so i bet 4/5 pot. U dont like it miffed? reason i posted this hand was because i thought i played this hand way too aggressive, which shows in my turn bet.

I'd either 3/4 pot turn to get the flush draw out, or check turn and c/c river. The last line is probably best; keep the pot small with middle pair + a missed draw often bets at the river. Even QJ/JT might try a 'value bet'.
