Wat was that? This is not a chawade.
J/k, NH. I'm wondering - are you calling this pfr if UTG folds to it? Are the CO's tendencies part of your thinking on the call? I tend to make some iffy calls pre-flop w/ spec when the pot equity isn't quite there yet, but I can expect it to be, given the others' tendencies.

Mainly just trying to get a LAGGier pov here...

Button's standard raise preflop was $4, so when he went $5 it was an obv. overpair, so I intended to call anyway as I had a very tight read. UTG calling was a clincher though, I must admit, and me calling probably brought CO along for the ride.

Button typed "disgrace" in the chat after the hand and left the table...

Lol, I guess you're supposed to feel bad, since you made an "incorrect" play based entirely on the strength of your "starting" hand. Can you smell the sarcasm?
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

3:1... meh, but nice read. S000ted!

lead FLOP (edit), because it looks weakish, c/r folds him if he has AQ instead of QQ. But, of course you were sure he had the overpair so w/p!

Raise instead of limp UTG+1, take control and maybe position. Disguises hand, builds pot if you hit.

    Oh, and fold pre flop!

Lead that flop with the flush draw on board. The C/R would have been appropriate with out the F/D.

I cant understand your logic, gabe, we are in ep.

    Okay, understood.

So if we miss (which will happen more often than not) we can play some poker regardless? What about facing a reraise? Isn't this building a pot a little early in the game with a hand that we're more than likely to be dumping post-flop most of the time?

    1. key words: Lead that flop. --> THAT.

    2. If we miss, we dump. u should only be playing these hands (post flop) for when the flop smacks u in the face, or you have the odds to draw. yes?

    3. Zenbitz: Why would you want to raise this UTG+1 pre-flop. Maybe in LP with limpers. And fold to re-raise (as you only have $1 in pot).

Please dont misinterpret my posts. I am not taking an aggresive tone. I am trying to be contructive. Also playing devils advocate.

I believe the way your hand was entirely satisfactory. However i am just putting up options.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
utg limps that gives me a reason to limp rather than raise. If utg folds i prefer to open IF im gona play here. After raise you can assume CO is gona come along if we call becuase the pot is so juicy. I like three handed with suited connectors behind a raise and call.

I am just giving a reason for raising pre-flop. I think a limp or fold is fine here too.
