    Default Flopped Top 2 & I'm Check-raised

So what does everyone think? My thinking = I haven't seen villain c/r yet so I don't know his c/r'ing range. Random players c/r 2 pair or better usually right? On the river I beat nothing that would normally c/r. If he c/r'ed me with TPTK he paired it on the turn. If he c/r'ed me with an overpair I'm toast. The only hand I can see me beating is a bluff. Thoughts?

His line screams, "I hit the straight, but want this hand over." They may also C/R if they think you are just bluffing. Since you showed no other aggression afterwords, villian had to figure you'd fold on the river.

yeah, could just be stealing the pot. Figured that you were weak since you weren't betting and figured that your flop bet was just a c-bet. But, I think I let him take this one, this board is pretty ugly dude.

I don't think I would let the betting get past the flop on this hand. You really haven't said much about op but I would either fold right there or reraise. The reason being that if you simply call, you're no longer the agressor so you're scared and the turn and river cards will make you more scared except for 6 outs. Thus, by calling, your chances of folding increase immensely to any future scare cards. With that in mind, I like to be in command of the hand and if the op is limp calling UTG with only pp's and he prob has set, I'm dumping. If he's a lagg, I can see myself just pushing.

I agree with gabe, just push the flop.. it's only a pot-sized raise. There are a ton of cards you don't want to see which will beat you or kill your action. Like any heart, any card 8 or higher that isnt a J or Q.

There are a handful of weak and extremely tight AND predictable players that I could put squarely on 88 here and muck, but those are few and far between and I usually just push anyway and chalk my loss up to variance. By the way I'm talking about the 12/4 types that habitually check/raise their sets here given preflop action and check/fold their misses.

If the board was more like KJ7 rainbow and you had KJ, I'd definately call flop with the intention of getting it allin on the turn.
