Tough TPTK hand

Bodog 50NL. Hero is BB with . UTG and MP limp, Button raises to $2, Hero, UTG, and MP call. Pot=$8.50

Flop :Qd::Js: Hero bets $6.75, UTG folds, MP and Button call. Pot=$28.75

Turn Hero checks, MP checks, Button bets $10, Hero and MP call. Pot=$58.75

River Hero checks, MP checks, Button checks.



Should I have check/folded the turn? I didn't feel good about being in the hand at that point, but bailing on TPTK to a weak, likely positional bet, seemed too weak.

Shorthanded? Full table? Stack sizes?

On a full table I like raising with AJ/AQ and not calling raises, esspecially oop, but one could argue that this is a fine pf line.

As for c/f the turn.. a non scary card hit, why check fold? Esspecially for a $10 bet in a $30 pot. If you think you were ahead on the flop there is no reason to think you're behind now. I might even lead out again.

I want a showdown on the river too.

I like to try and limit the field w a raise w/ AQ before the flop here. Why let those other guys call behind you with junk that can outflop you like T9? Out of position you want to end the hand ASAP. Also a reraise will clarify what the first villian has. If he simply calls your raise quickly he is likely to either have a mid pocket pair or assorted high cards. If he pushes back at you he might have a high pocket etc. Your reraise will guarantee that he has a decent hand and not some junk like T9o. Then you can be pretty happy with that flop and having it heads up is always easier.

If you let 2 other callers in you are playing Hit to Win and give up any chance of out playing your opponent. Why not raise and if he calls you can still play hit to win or maybe pick up the pot w/o improvement w/ a c-bet? I say make it an even $5 preflop...

Because a lot of the time people will call you positionally, even if they have weaker hands than you, and then you're in the same spot you would've been, but with a bigger pot. I definitely raise here with AK, suited or unsuited, AQs sometimes.
