If he really is a TAG who will re-raise with a very tight range of hands, then you should fold the flop to that bet. You only beat a bluff or AK, AQ taking a stab at the pot.

I called the flop bet in position thinking that it could be AK or AQ cbetting (I found his flopoverbet to be very weird, I think that was partly why I called). When he bet less than ½ pot on the turn I figured this was a pussy trying to fire a weak 2nd barrel, and I raise allin to prevent him from getting a free K or A on the river. Is this thinking flawed?

If I have AK or AQ and fire a strong c-bet on that flop I am 100% shutting down on the turn. Its far too likely that my opponent is willing to play for stacks at that point.

Overpairs have killed me lately. I conveniently put them on hands that I can beat to justify not laying them down. I plan to go through PT and take all the times I face large bets when I hold overs and see what percentage of the time I am ahead at that point in the hand. My hunch is I'm behind 60% of the time or more regardless of the opponent. I tend to just hand money to short stacks in these cases.

I like how you played this - it reeks of AK to me. BUt I assume it was either JJ or KK-AA?

Actually what I said isn't directly related to this hand. His turn bet sucks - it would be different if he bet 3/4+. Pushing over is probably the best move.

Well, from the looks of it, i believe it to be a reraise AK/Abig. He raises reraises OOP, then bets it very hard. Your decision should be almost totally based on your observations on his style. I doubt any experienced player would bet a great hand that hard.
If you're unsure about your status, u should reraise that 25 dollar bet not reraising ai on the tur. Yeah this shouldn't be to hard of a decision.

Nah I like his line. Call him once and if Villain comes out firing strongly on the turn just muck. His bet was weakish so a push is ok here.

Looks like he wanted to make sure we played by overbetting the flop right? His turn bet in relation to his flop bet is very weak and could be a wide range of hands other than AA/KK.

I like a half stack bet on the turn to commit opps to the hand. Against a typical opp, I'd expect to see AA/KK here. QQ/JJ might play this way too, but it really seems like typical opps don't rr anything but AA/KK. If it's AK it's a terrible line.
