Please read… well, gambling is an addiction and I can tell you first hand I am an idiot that fell into this trap! I have lost roughly 6K over two years of online casinos I am an addict and afraid for other people to fall into this… I am not saying I can not afford to lose this $, because I can… But, I have learned that instead of trying to win a quick buck take this $ and drop it into an IRA… Online sites are not regulated and can control the cards placing a mole who wins all the time… the mole travels between tables… I have watched this happen and another lesson learned two players can get on line and go into the same table… passing hand information back and forth then drive pots up accordingly. Online gambling is a big cheat and I have learned my lesson and will never play again. This bill should pass at least for regulation purposes. Eliminate off shore! A big cheat!

There are a few of you who want to blame religious people about online gambling. How do you know some of them don't do it? The blame should go to the damn right-wing radicals who want to control in a communistic way, what people do or don't do, not to mention wiretapping our phones. Ask one of them and they'll tell you they're against online gambling.

What's interesting about the comments to that article is that, with the exception of one concerned mom who says her 15-year-old son thinks poker is "easy money" (jackvance, is that YOUR mother? ), the other people who talk about their hobby say that they lose money and are happy to budget for this.

Which is absolutely fine - no reason why we shouldn't pay to play poker like we'd pay to play golf or whatever - but I was amazed by the acceptance of their losingness! In a way, I can see this being a positive - no unrealistic expectations and they won't be punching their monitors, tilting time after time, and obsessing about moving up to higher levels etc.
