Default Just signed up, so saying hi

Hiya, seeing as I'm new around here I thought I'd stick a post up in the lounge. Hopefully I'll get to know a few names.

I got recommended your forum by a friend and having read your book reviews, I've gone and ordered Theory of Poker and I thought I'd sign up at the same time.

I'm from London and have been playing poker for a year or so now, but only with friends who have less of an interest in the game than I do, so I'm really looking to push on and improve my playing skills. Having played with play money on a couple of poker sites, I thought I'd bite the bullet and play in a real cash tournament (it was only a dollar to enter!), and last week I got paid out for the first time, which has encouraged me alot!

I've got a mountain of stuff to learn though so I think I'm going to start off in the Beginners Circle and plough my way through some posts. Look forward to meeting some of you though!

    Morty

P.S. Are we allowed sigs on this forum or not?

good idea, just make sure you don't take everything you read at face value, because like all forums, there's always a certain amount of good information and other stuff that's not so good.

well if you're here for advice, here's some: Learn from the actual winners, on this forum and anywhere else. Everyone can give out poker advice these days, but the key is recognizing who knows their shit, and who is full of shit.

if you're not a winning player yet, good advice from the right person can change that in 1 day.
