    your lead on the river wasnt a good idea, if you were gonna use a blocking bet, a smaller one would be better since its easier to get away from if you dont know how to handle a raise from your opponent.

    Do you have any reads other than stats? I would much rather check the river and see what he does in this situation, with the intention of calling most bets, probably folding to a push.

    My plan was to fold to a raise. I made the bet because I wanted to get value of Ax and I'd call a small bet (~150-250) anyway.

    @bdawg: No, not really, I was 6-tabling.

    I didn't want to c/r the turn because I wouldn't know what to do at the river..

    Downswinging holla!
    Bet the turn here, if you get called or raised I would pretty much be done with the hand. Checking here would be to induce a bluff, but I think that is very unlikely, so there is no point. Betting the turn also gets you a cheap showdown here since AQ probably isn't betting the river. I actually think there is a decent chance villain raised you off of a chop.

    i agree on the lines.
    He flop a set and boated the river and made it look like a bluff perhaps?

    Looks pretty standard.

    I think checking the turn is better than betting. He's either drawing to 3 outs or you're drawing dead, with the latter being more likely when he calls a substantial turn bet.

    c/c is pretty bad here, cant make money from AJ type hands and there are no hands that will bluff

    How likely is it that a 17/13 cold calls a 3-bet preflop with a dominated ace? Granted stacks are deep and he has position, but I still don't think it's very likely. If villian was a fish then I would like b/f better on the river.
