Well, the evidence is clearly pointing in the direction that he made his flush. The "bets" he throws out on the flop and turn reak of blocking bets (which you had no part of, so good job).

Do you have any read on this guy? Without a read, I'd say your hand is no good. I don't see someone running an elaborate bluf waiting for a diamond to hit with that turn bet of yours.

You played it well, I'd lay it down.

I'm wondering if my Turn bet is too soft?

With your raise, you are giving him less than 3-1 odds to make the call, which is a bad bet when he's chasing the flush. You could have probably bet a bit more to reduce the odds even further to perhaps 2-1, but even so his call was not mathematically sound.

I like the turn bet. Like doc said, as long as you aren't laying him the proper odds to make the call your bet is good. If he's chasing the flush on both the flop and turn calling against the odds the last thing you want to do is feed him money when the flush hits. Doing so would basically nullify all the good work you did up to that point.

I'd make it like 30 ish on the turn. Though the flush completed on the river, you are getting 3-1 odds, and possibly could have more if you bet more on the turn. Call the river.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

Pay this off on the river? Why? What hand could you possibly beat that would play like that?

It looks like a poorly played flush draw from villain here, but it could be an even worsely played set. Either way, he's not holding KQ here.

Just wanted to point out that villain doesn't just have a flush draw here -- he's also got a pair or a gutshot, and possibly both. I think your turn bet was fine, but I'd bet more on the flop.

Not my level and I *just* started reading NLHT&P, but--

If villain has , he's got 12 outs to the nuts, so he's got pot odds to call your turn bet. Even if he's got it's close and the implied odds are there. As played, looks like you'd have to raise to pot or just put him all-in on the turn if your read is that he's on a draw to deny him the odds for his draw.

Nitty ol' me doesn't want to play a big pot here, though. I've lost way too much money trying to push people off their "flush draws" when I've got TPTK only to find that I'm up against a set or 2 pair. Those weak appearing flop and turn bets are VERY suspicious. If he's a tight/solid/nitty player he's put you on AA and he doesn't care because he's got a set.

    Sorry for the noob interruption...

I think a good 2 pair/set hand here will bet more on the turn. Often at these stakes people will still make mini blocking bets like that when on a draw, hoping to see a cheap card.

Reads on the villain would help a ton here. If we know he'll make little bets like that with drawing hands, we can push here into this $40 pot instead of having money left behind and a difficult decision if any jack, ten, queen or diamond shows up.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
