To anyone that pays for their own health insurance, what's the best plan to get, or what are the main things I should be looking for when choosing the best plan for me?
I need to get some so I don't have to get some shitty job with benefits..

Do a major medical/catastrophic only. Use cash for routine visits and small illnesses/injuries. Set aside about $150 per month per person, and earn interest on that shit instead of letting Aetna have it.

I've been meaning to look into BasicBlue, supposed to be a simple plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Don't know what it entails. Maybe I'll do that sometime, or maybe I'll wait and see if someone less lazy than I will post some details here.
