I have a question for the members from the UK. What does it mean when you guys say "taking the piss"? I get "taking a piss", but the afforementioned phrase has me baffled.

You can take the piss in a general sense - i.e. do something that seems so absurd as to be insulting or mocking - or take the piss OUT OF someone, where you are directly making fun of them. |
