350bb deep with a 52/23, top set on a flushy board

villian is 52/23, not very tricky but the depth of the hand makes it tough

i didnt reraise preflop because i wanted the fish in the hand. earlier he overbet the flop in similiar fashion when he flopped top pair with JT. he took about 10 seconds before calling and didnt really hesitate to make the large turn bet. i considered pushing the river but maybe im playing scared dude to a cold run.

i'm curious about why the river check isn't standard for you. how many worse hands are calling a push on that river, even if it really looks like a bluff?

i wouldnt say the push is standard, but i make alot more ballsy moves when im not runng poorly. i was thinking he didnt have the Ac, so i could win the pot from any low flush. a river push would be a pure bluff.

Ok gotcha. I failed to think about all the better hands you could get to fold.

yeah his line matches a low flush but he s a fish right so can he lay down? maybe my def of a fish at my stakes is diff from yours...

He doesnt have a club here that often (and when he does it is a high one) so I check behind on the river too.

Possibly, but from his description of the villain it didnt sound like he was a tricky player and i got the impression this is more than likely a made hand on the flop. That is a pretty big assumption though and those two hands are definitely possible, however they make up a very small percentage of the villains possible hands here IMO.

what about stuff like 9c8 or QcT. those hands might play this way and be able to fold to a river push.

Depends on how aggressive he is on the flop, guess it could be QcT but the Q is a high club to me, not sure if he will fold that (given he is so loose and aggro).
