If you're gonna open push turn you should have 3bet-pushed the flop. How is his AF? If it's low just check-fold, lead blank river if checked behind.

What's odd about playing a two-pair/set/QJ
this way?

Pretty typical set line with 4 to the flop on a very draw-heavy board...

For weaker or ... weakest? I tend to fold the flop on this type of TPTK hand - I'm not likely to improve in any way that helps me to continue to bet out, and the pot is now bloated.
Sometimes I will call here and check-fold the turn...I am mostly going for a reasonably priced showndown - it helps a lot if another diamond shows up and forces him to slow down.
Certainly there are times I will felt this hand - but that would require a read.

I like to just bet-bet-bet and be smooth-called down by weaker pairs when I have TPTK...it doesn't happen often enough really

Betting 10$ on turn leaves us with 5$ left, surely we cant put nearly 4/5 of our stack in the middle and then fold?

None. Open pushing sucks.

Maybe I have nitty habits, but I'd find a fold here. Only a draw or split AK is reasonable raising hand that doesn't have our Hero smoked.

If villain is pegged as "overplayer" then go ahead and push. But if he's half decent it's time to retreat.

Because the pot is multiway and two players that hit big might tip their hands to us so we can get away unscathed.

On this flop, someones going to bet. We could check/call and play cautiously, or with a read we could c/r and squeeze some weak hands who are just betting in late position to try and steal the pot.

Also everyone in this thread is worried WAY too much about shutting out drawing odds. Remember, we don't care if draws draw cheap if we aren't even sure we have the best hand to begin with!

This is interesting and something I'm going to try to keep in mind. In this particular hand though, doesn't hero have the best hand on the flop the vast majority of the time? We're behind 88, TT, KT, K8 and basically a coinflip against combo draws QdJd/Jd9d.

I like a c/r here, but a c/c seems pretty weak... care to elaborate? Would you only c/c if MP1 bets and there are two folds, or would you do it if Button bets and there are two left to act behind you? If MP1 bets, you call and it's heads-up, are you leading any turns or rivers?

Read dependant of course. Against good player fold.
(could be str/fl semibluff though).

Against known fishes, lags bet 66-100% pot.

This is marginal situation so I guess I would fold here
over 50% of time and wait for better opportunities.
