Three to a flush

I played this hand in EP to change up my game. Plus everyone was being very passive PF with almost no raises.Villain is new to table.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5, A. MP3 posts a blind of $0.10. CO posts a blind of $0.10.
Hero calls $0.10, UTG+1 calls $0.10, 2 folds, MP3 (poster) checks, CO (poster) checks, 2 folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($0.55) 5, A, 3 (5 players)
BB bets $0.5, Hero raises to $2, UTG+1 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, BB raises to $5.1, Hero ???

Easy fold? I suspected he only had 1 diamond, but that kind of changed on the reraise. Maybe he only has :Kd:
Is the raise bad? I figured I would do it to see if he had the flush or scare him that I did.
Is this a possible call/push?

I don't like the EP call at all, too often it leads to situations such as this where you have flopped a relatively strong hand but are against 3+ others and have no clue as to what they are holding.

You'd be much better off playing a TAG style, playing and raising solid hands that won't get you into these sticky situations, infact if you really feel the need to occasionaly play this type of hand I'd much rather see you raise this pre flop and isolate your opponents rather than limp into a small multiway pot.

As played, I think it's an easy fold. Against 4 other players it's far too likely that someone flopped the flush, a straight or even a set here. At virtually any level of play, on a flop like this I would think correct to assume that the only hands that are going to 3-bet are ones that beat you.

You shouldn't really have to change up your game at any level 100NL and down (possibly higher too, but that's for someone else to answer). If you get bored play more tables.

If you get the urge to do something different do it with a hand with potential, and in late position.

not so sure he has the flush, he could have something like AJ trying to win the pot right right there.. not a bad fold, also not a bad idea to push.

lol i had better come up with a good reason for playing this terrible hand in terrible position if i'm gonna post it. oh! i know! i was "mixing" it up!....honest! i fold this hand all other times

A few months ago I realized that with a few exceptions, trying to outsmart people at 10NL and 25NL was a bad idea.

I've been a far more winning player since that day.

If you do wanna raise whatever in whatever position, then its fine. But have a plan in your head of what hands on what board you'd continue with, and stick with it. This likely is not one of them.
