Any idea how aggressively he plays TP? That's what it looks like to me. I would probably get more money in on flop. I think calling the raise is setting you up for a bunch of scare cards like another t in this example.

    What happened to bigred?

    1) It's late and this is a coherent post.
    2) It's a post about poker

@OP Call his turn bet and spike a J on the river.

since he is a fishy player, I min-reraised him on the turn to a total of $10 to see what he will do, call and act on the river, or just call and check on the river

    please correct my thinking.
    1) If I just call on the turn and he has a big hand he will bet more on the river, scaring me away or more likely having me call a larger bet making me loose more money
    2) Since he is fishy If I just re-raise him small enough that he will call, but scare him enough making him think I have a hand he would then not bet again on the river hoping for a cheap showdown, or , re-re-raise my small re-raise having me fold and not loose more money.

I chose option 2 cause it gives me the potential to win more, but loose the same amount or even less if my hand is beat, not to mention I can always hit another J on the river.

BTW, I do not like the reply call and hope to spike a J. I think that would make me a calling station hoping to hit my nuts without good pot odds, and most likely poor implied pot odds.

I like option 2 too, for the same reasons. If he's a fishy player, I would strongly suggest getting more in on the flop.

You were worried about being a calling station? Come back over the top if you think you have the best hand. Calling on the flop just sets up the remaining streets with possible overcards (16) as well as Tens (3) that will scare the hell out of you. Make the game simple, fold or raise.

this just looks like an overvalued TP hand that just made trips on the turn. i 3-bet the flop and fold to a push.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

He was referring to the fact that you're probably beat.

agreed, I should have re-raised the flop

on turn, I chose option 2, I raised him just enough on the turn so that he would call or re-raise me if he had the T. I raised him to $10, and all he did was call. next card comes was junk and villian just checks. Hero?

i figure check cause anything that calls only beats me, but I feel pretty damn sure he does not have any T, but not positive

    any opinions?

He is a fish -- you bet $3 ---- fish "Raises" to $10

    2 problems here:
#1) The calling station raised. (something fishy about this)
#2) You called the calling stations raise.

Fold the flop unless you are willing to go broke with JJ.

I think I should have prefaced that I have watched him make this kinda re-raise atleast 2 more times in the last 50 hands, maybe 3. Plus I never said he was a calling station, just fishy.

agreed. check behind. not enough worse calling hands to value bet here without a more specific read. I'd say a T9 unsure if outkicked
