I was thinking about this the other day, maybe he was too...
Setting up the scenario: you raise and have a little bitch on your left who likes to 3-bet you frequently, both in and out of position. If this player is good, they become extremely difficult to deal with. Referring to myself in the third person, when he is on top of his game and not either a) spewing off buyins, or b) nitting it up hardcore because of A, Lukie fits this description.
Basically the situation goes like this: CO opens a lot of hands here. Lukie 3-bets his button here a lot. There are decent hands that the CO has that have somewhat decent equity against Lukie's still superior range, but still aren't good enough for a call. Basically, low pairs and Axs. Assuming CO isn't out of line and Lukie will fold a lot of hands to a push, it's alright to push these hands on occasion as a semi-bluff. Axs would likely be preferable but I'm not really sure. We're assuming that Lukie folds all unpaired hands here except possibly AK, which he calls with in this hand.
Umm, I dunno. Thoughts?
The hand isn't really important but it kinda puts a visual on things. Obviously low pairs are preferrable when the other guy has AK and Axs is preferable when the other guy has a big pair (keep in mind the 'other guy''s range has to include a small percentage of big pairs and he probably has to be able to fold JJ/sometimes QQ here.
