I like overbetting just to make myself look like I am bluffing. If I' m OOP I'll almost always try a check-raise overbet.

Fwiw, getting the best value, no matter what that 'best' relates to in cash/bbs is the most important feature. I find people will show down bottom pair if you even just bet 1bb into a 4bb pot. That might actually be maximum value at times...
