    Default HU extraction

    no HH. 50 NL. Table has recently gone down to HU. Was a fairly weak/passive table, and me and opp have been somewhat aggro because of it, with only a few hands against each other. he has thrown a CR on me when I cbet with missed overs. I have about $65, opp covers.

    This is only the second hand of the HU.

    I am the button/SB and get dealt :Ac::Kc: and raise to 1.75 (bet pot button, I am lazy) which has been my standard raise at this table. Opp thinks for a bit then calls.

    Flop: :Js::Ah::Ad: (pot = 3.50)
    opp checks, I bet 2.25 fully expecting a check-raise here. opp thinks, then calls. I am somewhat disappointed.

    Turn: :Ks: pot = 8
    opp checks again. I bet 6, again half expecting a check raise, opp calls again after a pause.

    River: inconsequential low card, non spade pot = 20
    opp checks, I bet the pot, opp thinks for a bit and calls.

    shows down A9.

    I feel as though I should have stacked him on this hand since it was headsup and he hit trip aces. The only place that I can really see playing it differently is the turn. If I check behind on the turn I feel as though he will be more likely to lead the river, and this will allow me to make a larger final raise if he does. but, by checking behind it also costs me the chance to juice the pot a little more with the nut hand, which makes for a smaller river bet.

    I don't know if there was any way to get all of his chips, but I really wanted them on this hand and would like to know of some other ways to extract more in similar situations in the future.

    Thanks.

    If you bet pot.. turn pot is $10.5, river pot is $31.5, then you can shove.

    The only problem with that is I almost never bet the pot post flop. If I start doing it, it will make my bluffs that much more expensive when they don't work.

    I think jack's suggestion is the best way to (possibly) get more.
    it's worth it to occasionally bet pot as a bluff and/or value bet, that way you don't always need to bet standard sizes to conceal your hand strength.

    Ever since prima got the "bet pot" and "bet 1/2 pot" buttons, I'm betting those two a lot. A friend of mine kinda enlightened me on this, since I watched him play, I'm less concerned about keeping my bet sizes the same just to obfuscate my hand.. I just bet what feels right. (it's not like I'm playing 5/10 where everyone instantly analyses my lines)

    you played it fine, you had to bet small enough so KJ still calls. usually you will get it in v another AAA but you got unlucky that he was so passive.
