    Default I'm gonna assume 114% ROI is slightly unsustainable, right?

    Testing a new poker strategy and decided to create a small ROI spreadsheet to track it's potential profit. Could someone check my math please?

    This is all $5.50 single table SnGs at PokerStars.

    3 finished out of the money.
    1 finished 3rd for $9
    2 finished 2nd for $13.50
    2 finished 1st for $22.50

    Adding that up I got $50.50 in profit and $44 in BuyIns.

    114% ROI, right?
    "The System" Experiment - $5+.50 SnG's at PokerStars
    SnG's - 60 ; ITM - 24 ; ROI - 4%
    1st - 6 ; 2nd - 10; 3rd - 8

    I already know it's not a big enough sample size for anything. I just want to be sure of my math. Is the math done correctly?

    What did you make compared to what you invested?

    You invested 38.50 and you won $81 therefore you profited 42.50 on 38.50 so your math looks good.

    Alright good.

    One more question. How many games should I play and record before it becomes a reliable sample size?

    Sorry to bump this but it's been a long time since Ive been in school and my maths is quite rusty. I scratched my head for a while and came up with an answer I believe to be right. Looking for confirmation please..

    P.S .. Im aware that the sample size is tiny

    Pokerstars $5.50 SnG's

    Investment = $110
    Return = $153
    Profit = $43

    What I did was multiply (43/110)x(100/1) and got an ROI of 39%
    Is this right?

    That's correct, ROI = {Profit} / {Investment} * 100

    If you attained a 114% ROI for even 50 sng's, it would be utterly amazing, and I would probably stake you.

    I dont know how amazing it would really be, i know ive ran around 80-90% roi over 50 sngs...

    You probly need somewhere around 400-500 sngs to have a good idea of how you should do at a certain level.
