Tough Spot
I am experimenting with playing taggy poker (15/12/4 ish... YIKES! SO WEIRD!) and found this spot really interesting.
I raise to 7$ from the CO with
Laggy villain to my left, who loves to cold-call preflop ( I have a feeling his cold-calling range is HUGE as he's shown down shit like J7s for a straight in a huge pot after cold-calling preflop), has been pwning the table and hasn't been caught out of line yet. He likes to C/R the river with monsters, but that doesn't really apply here. My only other read - no surprise here - is that he plays both his monsters and his bluffs very fast postflop.
No HH with me (away from my CPU) but stacks are about :
Villain : 650ish
Hero : 225 ish (NL200)
Flop is
I bet 12 into 17
Villain raises to 39$
I call.
Turn (pot is 85ish)
I check, villain bets 65$
Now if we look at the situation, what are my best options? Is there any point to raising (me thinks no)?
Here's my other question, if I improve on the river, does the hand play any differently?
Confused, I called and laughed as the river (pot is now 210$ lol) brought :
I check, villain shoves. (I don't think I can fold, .... but WTF???)
What do you think?
Replies to any of the questions in the post are most welcome as I felt really confused and lost here. The question I'm really curious about is whether or not you feel that making top 2 pair on the river changes the decision.
EDIT : How about the river decision if a blank falls (kinda repeating same question...)?
