    Default A-Q 100NL

Looking for general comments on how i played the hand. Particularily, do i have to call the river bet? Villain is a solid TAG who has beaten a couple buy ins out of me during the evening this hand was played.

    FullTiltPoker Game #2104978181: Table Steamship - $0.50/$1

    Chump Y: ($105.45)
    Villain: ($128.55)
    Hero: ($114.05)
    Chump X: ($35.85)

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to Hero: [As Qh]
    1 fold
    Villain: raises to $3.50
    Hero: calls $3.50
    2 folds
    Villain Y: calls $3.50
    togl folds
    Villain X: calls $3
    1 fold
    *** FLOP *** [2h 4s Qc]
    Villain X: checks
    Villain: bets $11.25
Hero: raises to $22.50 (i don't like a raise, is call/ fold to turn bet better?)
    Villains Y, X: fold
    Villain: calls $11.25
    *** TURN *** [2h 4s Qc] [6s]
    Villain: checks
Hero: bets $14.50 (should have checked behind here)
    Villain: calls $14.50
    *** RIVER *** [2h 4s Qc 6s] [2s]
    Villain: bets $24.25
    Hero: ? (UGH)

This is a really strange hand. First off I'd fold preflop but now that I got that out of my system onto the hand... Call and fold to turn bet may be better on this dry of a board if your opponent isn't a total monkey. After raising the flop I'd check, what are you really afraid of dropping on the river? Do you really think that unless he has KQss/QJss/AA/KK that he is calling with anything? So on the river do you think you're ahead ~23%? I think it's borderline but I think it's a fold. With this action I don't think any hand you beat plays like this.

I just looked over the hands and lahoozaher's replies as well as how you were tightening up-- but then saw you raise KQo UTG. Are you playing 6 max, Vi-Zero? Looks like lahooozaher plays FR in his sig. There is a NL Short Handed forum that might work better for your hand comments.

If you both play the SH game, never mind; just a thought that there might be a disconnect on the advice being sought and given.

if this is 6max and he isnt a real tight player then reraise.
calling isnt as horrible as others will make out, but opp needs to be raising KQ/AJ (which should be standard 4handed) for you to just call. ALso needs to be raising 88-JJ in ep as well.

I reraise or fold pre-flop usually. I like flat-calling the flop, you don't want to play a big pot and a decent raise is going to scare away hands you beat. I don't understand the tiny turn bet... I check behind. As played fold to his river bet.

Hero repped a big hand that wants action with his flop minraise and tiny turn bet. If villain is a "solid TAG" I don't see what we're beating here.

I definitely confused some people with the way i wrote my HH. My apologizies.

I rarely play anything less than FR, so unless specified its usually ok to assume i just filtered out the irrelevant players (i will make note of the missing stacks in future posts).

There's a hand converter that does FTP hands here:

    http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter/

You need to register but it works pretty well.

If you look on the left of this screen under poker tools is "hand converter".

Doesn't work for Full Tilt. The one drtofu posted does though.

This is 10 handed, look at PF action.

As played is TPTK that great of a hand at Full Ring? There is nothing you should expect to be beating except a poorly play KQ/JJ type hand.

I fold and think little of it.

Not sure why you min/raised the flop. Raise here isn't bad, but make it man-sized.
Def check behind turn, can still call river if you feel he bluffs or "value bets" <TPTK here with some frequency.

AQ is a reraise or fold situation, depending on tightness of villain/his raising range. It also gives you fold equity in a lot of spots. People give you credit for QQ+ when you 3 bet preflop b/c that is the standard RR range. Reraising a broader range is deceptive if you can play postflop well and can fold hands when it's apparent they do hold the goods.

As played, if you are going to raise, make it a man sized raise. Minraises suck and only give odds to a draw if it is on the board. Make it $35 and fold to a push.

Turn.....check behind is good. It gives you pot control with a one pair hand. His call says he still likes his hand.

River...he called your raise and then led into you. He says he knows you like your hand, but he likes his better. I fold as played. Had you checked turn and he led, then it becomes read based again.

    fold preflop.
i dont like the flop reraise
dont bet 14 on the turn... u bet more on the flop, that looks sooo weak.
if you do play it like you did (dont in the future) call. if he had a set he wouldnt have gone from playing it fast to slowing down that much and he probaly just thinks you look weak (and you do) so he is trying to get you off and he has something like KQ.
