Default Should I follow through (missed draw deep)

100NL last night, I'm at work so I don't have the hand history. Both the villain and I have about $225, I think he's a regular but he's kind of passive and not very good. He got his stack by busting an idiot short stack, then winning a medium-sized pot off me when I flopped trips and he rivered a flush, I check-called a 1/3 pot bet on the river. There was also another hand where I raised UTG with AK and got called by him and a fish in the blinds, I check-folded a dry flop and he showed QQ.

For this hand I raised 7 8 to $3 UTG+1 and he re-raised to $9 from the CO, everyone folded and I called. Like I said he's passive so I pretty much put him on AA,KK, maybe AK.

Flop: 5 6 7, pot is $18. He bet $10 and I check-raised to $35 since I had outs and he might not felt an overpair on that board this deep. He called.

Turn 2 I think, pot is $75. I bet $55 and he called after about 15 seconds. At this point I put him on mostly AA or KK without a spade, smaller chance of AK with a spade, I feel like he would have played AA or KK faster if he had a spade.

River was J, so about $140 left and the pot is a little under $200. Should I follow through here or give up?

Do you have any reads that he's capable of laying down hands? I gave up trying to get people to fold overpairs a long time ago. Plus a "not very good" guy has a hard time letting go of AA-KK.

You have to push here I think, there's way too many hands that call turn and fold river.

I probably check. I get called wayyy to much here and think to myself, "wow what an idiot..." I think the bigger edge a good player has deep against the usual non-nit bad player is a good player understands the value of his hand.

I'd typically give up here (remember you're beating AKo w spade) vs this player on the river. An aggressive hand-reading type player is much more likely to laydown here imo.

Also I don't think CR flop is great.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
