Default Standard Fun Spot in 3-bet pot OOP Monotone Board

Villain is solid. Runs at 16/13 over a decent sample.

UTG limper is a huge fish so who he definitely wants to isolate against preflop.

    I have been pretty sane.

preflop is bad btw if u have any question as to what to do here and happen to think its clearly bad.

    as played i call

Fold because the only thing you are ahead of is TT and AK without a spade (highly unlikely).
Even TT with a spade is close.

I'd like to know why preflop is so bad?

I think preflop's ok since the desire to isolate the fish probably means villain is opening a wider range than he normally would vs an UTG limper (maybe this is backwards?).

Folding obviously sucks and for abovementioned reason I think calling will leave some money on the table too often since JJ will be hating life OOP with 100% chance of utg fish calling...

Calling for set value is definitely an option.

btw sauce based on villain who opened, what would you think of 3-betting QQ? KK?

i think QQ is debatable and, same with AK. JJ here is just lame as you have a tight solid opener and a complete fish. I mean OOP ur hand is probably only marginally +ev against the solid guy's range. might as well give urself more ev.

on flop i call primarily cause of the incredible odds ur getting, also checking this flop isnt bad at all with the intention of folding or raising.

i also cold call pre against someone so tight pre. I probably check the flop to unless he seems to call 3-bets a little loosely.

Why bet 3/4 pot on flop?? there was a thread on 2+2 that said betting this much is a leak when the pot has been 3 bet PF. bettting around 1/2 pot is better which makes sense. (cant find link BTW, too much fecking traffic over there)

Opp will probably shove any As or Ks plus AA,KK,QQ (with a spade), 99,TT (with spade). Wow thats alot of hands in his range

I think I get bluff-shoved on quite a bit here by an aggro tagg when I bet 1/2 pot here

    Maybe I'm paranoid

edit : what I just typed is donkish since lots of "bluffs" here have a spade and good equity vs my hand. Meh. It's what went through my mind when I played the hand.

geni, why not just call pre, that way you can play with the fish instead of guarantee that hes not seeing the flop
