Default Ur shove doesn´t make sense

no real reads, villian sat down 2 orbits or so ago and took a lot of flops and chased a couple of flushes. i doubled him up in his first hand w/ AA vs 222 with $20 shortie AI between us. He played his set slow, i put him AI on the turn.

    ** Game ID 1385002766 starting - 2007-05-14 23:41:17
** Dover [Hold 'em] (0.25|0.50 No Limit - Cash Game) Real Money

    - clafferty sitting in seat 1 with $75.78 [Dealer]
    - XTR1000 sitting in seat 3 with $49.95
    - P0kergirl19 sitting in seat 4 with $24.50
    - Uzione sitting in seat 5 with $32.10
    - ppatsa sitting in seat 6 with $118.23 [Sitting out]

    XTR1000 posted the small blind - $0.25
    P0kergirl19 posted the big blind - $0.50
    ** Dealing card to XTR1000: 8 8
    Uzione folded
    clafferty called - $0.50
    XTR1000 raised - $2.50
    P0kergirl19 folded
    clafferty called - $2.50

    ** Dealing the flop: 10 5 7
    XTR1000 bet - $4.50
    clafferty called - $4.50

    ** Dealing the turn: 9
    XTR1000 bet - $7.00
    clafferty called - $7.00

    ** Dealing the river: 3
    XTR1000 checked
    clafferty went all-in - $61.78
XTR1000 requests time and thinks about calling (i have only ~pot behind)

    a) call?
straights are unlikely given the flop, fd and overs missed and i expect sets/TP´s to vbet me small here.

    b) anyone lead this river?

Why did you go to war with him out of position with 88?

with only 2 orbits with villain, im not playing this hand so hard. maybe c/c turn? If he IS bad, then this could easily be a missed FD/SD, but i dont want to play this big of a pot w/ 3rd pair.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

    $2 pre-flop
    $3 flop
    $4 turn
    $5 river

Go nuts if your hand improves. It exploits the hell out of this guy.

if i wouldn´t have picked up the oesd on turn, i´d prob have slowed down.

pre i made 2.5 b/c oop i´d rather took this one down right there. on the flop i´m ahead of a good bunch of his range and there are lots of turns i dont want to see, turn gives me oesd, i dont want him to draw another diamond/want to build the pot to go AI when i hit.

Just call him. He's full of shit. Honestly. I'm just kidding, but it is tempting isn't it? You are ahead a fair amount of time here. The problem is I don't know if it's often enough.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I think you played the hand well..

Pre 4x bb. +1 for limper, and plus you'll be playing out of position so definitely want to make him pay more for calling with an inferior hand.
    Flop is good...
Turn is close, my decision to bet again with 2 overcards on board would depend on his flop & turn folding percentages.
I could rarely call this river with no reads...
If you had stats that his river aggression was insanely high...
bluffed with air, missed draws etc. & a timing tell.
    Ie. If he instashoved
    you could think about calling..

what makes this decision close for me is the fact he instapushed. A thinking opp could easily take my line for AK/AQs/88, why should he push me off, while he could try to extract a 1/3ish hero call from these hands?
    im sure i´d mucked my 88 without a second thought to a 1/3 - 1/2ish bet.
