Default JJ in 4 bet pot

Villain is a 37/16/3.4 over 254 hands. I we both have been fairly active at the table and i have 3 bet several times. Should i have just folded pf to the 4 bet? I thought we were almost deep enough to make it worth calling since i was getting 2:1.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero ($244.35)
    UTG ($66)
    MP ($98.50)
    CO ($233)
    Button ($160.55)
    SB ($149.75)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
1 fold, MP calls $1, 1 fold, Button raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero raises to $15.5, MP folds, Button raises to $41, Hero calls $22.50.

    Flop: ($80.50) 4, 7, 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $72, Hero???

Fold preflop, no implied odds for set hunting...what you usually are doing here.
(if you called because you thought you're JJ could be good enough sometimes, please tell...but you're OOP, so still fold ... or do a crazy 5-bet)

Flop is a bit interesting because of the flush draw.
pot is 150, btn has about 50 behind. You could c/rai for 120 to win 200...which is not good enough. Fold.

I agree with minsim. You have no real reason to call preflop. If you thought you were ahead enough here (seen villain do this before with marginal hands) then I would just push. Otherwise, I'd say fold preflop.

Yes fold to the 4 bet!

What do you put him on? AA/KK, AK? Or you think he might be starting to play back at you? You can't call this preflop bet, its either a fold if you think he has QQ+ or push if you think he does this with AK or is playing back at you.

There is little point of seeing a flop as you really are only looking for a J.

I'm surprised the Villain didn't push the flop as he only has 50 behind after this bet.

I find this is often a tell vs lesser players. When they have a hand that's golden they bet only thinking about what a good bet would be for the pot without considering what they have behind. ie there is a $70 and they have $49 left behind and only bet $45. Nothing to base big plays on or anything, but just something I've noticed.

And I fold to the 4-bet.
