Default 50NL: flopped a set - health check hand

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP1 ($66.75)
    MP2 ($131.45)
    MP3 ($3.25)
    CO ($127.25)
    Button ($61.80)
    Hero ($56.60)
    BB ($38.85)
    UTG ($49.50)
    UTG+1 ($41.55)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8, 8.
5 folds, CO calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, Hero completes, BB checks.

    Flop: ($2) 8, A, 7 (4 players)
Hero bets $1.8, BB calls $1.80, CO folds, Button calls $1.80.

    Turn: ($7.40) 5 (3 players)
Hero bets $7, BB raises to $36.55, Button folds, Hero ???.

I put this hand here only for a health check purpose

    villain was 25/11/1.2.
    My image was tight/aggressive.
Do you raise PF here? The river call in standard, right?

I don't raise here pre since we are going into 3 people and probably at least one of the late position will look us up (guess this could be a leak of consistent play) but then again I am known to limp AQ/AK there too sometimes.

And then we come to the problem of limping in the sb....64/69 would definatly be in the BB's range now and you have to think that he would have raised an ace pre with 3 limpers.

In this hand I'd expect to be shown one of 55, 77, 64, 69 most likely. I'd say you still have top set and have outs if he has the straight but I'm not sure I'd make the call (at least in my current mindset ) as after the reraise you are only getting 7:10 odds.

If he has the set or 2 pair (apart form aces up) then I think the odds justify it but I'm not sure I could convince myself to call here.

With the reads and villains figures, I fold this. Against an aggro, maybe but still probably not.

Most of the time I don't raise this preflop, but will occasionally depending on how passive the limpers are.

After the turn, I bet 1/2 - 2/3 pot normally on the smaller side.

Guys, I'm surprised you're not advice a call here.
The only hands that are beating us are 96 and 64 (AA is not very likely).
I thought this was a standard call with a 25/11/1.2 villain. If villain was 10/2/0, I might fold ...

Yeah I'm suprised too. Are we really beat more than 63% of the time? BB could have lots of 2 pair hands, a lower set or even a semi bluff. With the str8 we still have a 20% of filling up on the river. Only if he somehow limped AA are we toast. I'd call like a shot, but maybe I'm missing something?
Must get more aggressive - Tonight we dine in $25NL! rah rah rah! etc

again jimmy44 please start raising PF.

pot flops in unraised pots IMHO. call turn, note he is BB in unraised pot so he can have ANY combo that hits this flop.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.
