Default 3 big hands from tonight

    1. UTG is 20/16/7, but I have no reads. Comments on all streets appreciated.

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: $591
    CO: $225.20
    Button: $609
    SB: $502.40

    Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with J J
UTG raises to $21, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds, Hero raises to $90, UTG calls, Button calls.

Hero bets $189, UTG calls, Button folds.

    Turn: 5 ($651, 2 players)
    Hero...

    2. Villain is complete unknown, which with datamining is a pretty rare event. It usually = fish, but who knows. Should I have 3-bet the flop? Can I fold a set in an unraised pot?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Holdem Ring game - Blinds: $3/$6 - 6 players - Converter

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: $423.40

UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, BB checks.

    Flop: 4 9 6 ($18, 3 players)

    Turn: 8 ($78, 2 players)
    Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $60, Hero raises to $198, UTG+1 raises all-in $496.65, Hero...

    3. And a fun extraction hand. 3-bettor is a regular that I have a fair amount of history with. He's 22/16/3 over a lot of hands. No reason to think he'd c-bet this flop 4-way without an overpair. What's your plan?

HH needs to be updated to show everything in BB...i'm still converting in my brains...

hand 1: villain should have Ax, 66+....which means i'm betting again on the turn around 60% of the pot size. with no reads and those stats i'm calling a shove. push most rivers.

hand 2: i'm CCing preflop too. no sense bloating the pot with 44 unless you know your opponents are too tight. flop and turn i play the same. cry and call, this time i'm crying for real rather than crying for the sake of crying.

hand 3: if he's got a high turn aggression (over 2), i'm check calling the turn, and open shoving any river. if it's lower i would bet/push.

PM me about this or (better) post it in a feedback/issues with HH thread. There are a number of higher priorities, but that might make it on the list too.

hand 2: threebet the flop and of course call turn.

hand 3: I really like a flat call here, it looks like QQ-TT(99?) and villain isn't going to be afraid to bet the turn.

1: Part of the question he is, as aggro as villain is, can we get away ever? If not, then we need to maximize our wins when we're ahead. Against this villain (just looking at agg), we might get more value out of hands we beat by checking to induce a bluff. Initially I wanted to recommend a flop cr, but I can't think of any hands that really helps your EV against - I guess it's more of a tourney move.

2: We're worried about T7, 75, and random larger sets...that he could do this with just as many draws, Ax paired hands, and random two pairs or over played pairs makes me like the call. I don't hate a 3-bet on the flop, but realistically that will get folds from some of the hands you beat, none of those that beat you, and there's not enough else (draws that would justify the play) to make it worth it IMO.

3: I think I like a call, followed by a bet on the turn. Rep the 99 that doesn't believe him and is trying to take it away. Raising is okay too - you're almost repping the same hand. I don't like cr the turn...I'm okay with check/call there too if you don't want to bet out.

hand 1: Your threebet is really large, I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's really hard to tell if we are ahead or behind right now obviously, this spot is just really marginal considering he didn't shove the flop I probably shove the turn.

You noticed that UTG made it $21 and BU called, right? There's $42 in...$90 is about a pot-sized raise - not that big really.

It is a squeeze, but it still might be a little big.

i definitely check the turn on hand 1... the question is what to do next.

There's probably no way he's floating here with someone to act behind him, and i think it's possible that he could have QQ-AA in his preflop range because the threebet really didn't give set odds. If he bets the turn you may just have to fold, since he probably wouldn't bet 99-JJ. I doubt this guy is dumb enough to just cold call AK or AQ on the flop here, so he pretty much never has a draw.

If he checks behind the turn like we are hoping, you just have to uber-value bet him.

The first hand I think a turn check is mandatory - by betting the only hand you may get to call you that you beat is 66. I'd probably fold when he goes AI as he is probably not overplaying 77-1010.

The second hand I stack off if he has me beat here just due to the fact he is obviously a donk who likely overvalues his hands due to the C/Minraise. Against a regular its a much tougher decision.

The third hand - the way to extract here is to try to represent a mid PP, so flat call, then C/C turn and C/R river - he would have expected you to make a move on the turn if you had his overpair beat so he will likely fire the river and he'll be commited to call your reraise.

Hand 2 is a great example on why not to fold a set, even if the board is a bit co-ordinated.

Hand 3 I would probably lead the turn if I checked flop, gotta build the pot with a FH and villain's hand is just a cooler.

if we were villain with KK, what's our best move on the turn after we get check raised? pot size to stack size is ackward...
