Default Hand is keeping me up tonight

What's the river line here? He has like 20 behind on the end. I figure betting gets me zero value so I decide to c/c.

Villain is 17/9 but has been openlimping UTG frequently

I would call too. Nothing good comes from raising.

i would bet out and call a raise.

i pot flop, turn is goot and i b/c river. you will rarely ever get raised on river anyway so bet for value. c/c sucks bcoz i think we miss alot of value

yeah.... but thats a pretty small part of his range unless you are just deathly afraid of some big cooler. just bet out river otherwise you miss way too much value.

How deep is the money? Post-flop read? Betting to induce a bluff is really sexy if not much money is left behind.

he obv dont have Qd.... overbet the pot and I guarantee a call from low flushes (as i said he dont have Qd hehe)
  9. #9
Nevermind, if he's got 12 left after betting 8 I would just stick the rest in with the 2nd nuts.

I just think how often will an opponent have a straight flush? The odds are so stacked againts it that it is simply worth just sticking it in without a care of the straight flush. If you lose, you will win the extra money back later by not paying it scared like this.

how does he NOT have the Qd here? What other flush is chasing? Even the biggest donks ive played against dont chase flushes w/ 8 high. Well, maybe some.

That being said i still lean toward b/c river.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

He isn't calling any raise. The pot is yours as it stands. The only two other lines here are raise, and he folds, or raise and lose to the Qd. Just calling makes you nothing but raising can lose you more and makes you nothing.

Without the Ad or Qd in your hand, would you call a RR?

    cos i said SO!

i couldnt put 17/9 on unsuited UTG hand with Q in it which he woul continue on that flop... only KQo... (tho my feeling is he had 88/AQ - no need to quote me i kno it dont make sense as played ) meh cant put him on a hand...

I recorded this sesssion so I just rewatched this hand and here was my thought process:

"Fuck, that's a shitty card, what hands can he call with if I bet? Shit, I'm checking to induce a bluff. Crap, that looks like a valuebet and I don't think he's calling a raise with worse now. Hmmphhhh, just call I guess"

    I'd bet/call I think.

Explain b/c to me, we think a tight/passive if raising without the 1st or 2nd nuts here?

I mean, I understand betting, it's the calling part I don't. Well, it'd be a much tougher decision if the money was deeper.

It's not putting him on a str8 flush Harry. It's putting him on a hand that could call a bet here.

I don't see any hands I beat on this river calling a bet. Sounds nitty I'm sure but I really expect him to be holding the naked 8d and call a river bet? When he bets there once again, there's no value in raising this river, therefore I just call.

What portion of his range is he checking behind that might call a bet on the river?

    - there are definitely some hands here that would take a showdown for free that will likely also call a river bet (i.e. Qx-x)

Is there any possibility villain could bluff raise the river?

    - it may be small, but so is the possibility you are beat here.

A river check to induce a bluff is interesting but unlikely to work given the way villain has played his hand.

Its rediculous to say a 17/12 probable nit is calling a bet with "any diamond". If you guys really think that then you have obviously lost alot of respect for these games since leaving them.
Its debatable (pretty unlikey imo) that he calls with the 8, and hes never calling with anything lower ever.
