Default Threebet pot play (calling threebets)

I feel like my threebet pot play is seriously lacking when i call threebets. When I am the threebettor, i feel really good about what i do, when i'm not, I'm not very confident at all.

I'd like to have a discussion here on what people normally do postflop when calling in a threebet pot versus light threebettors? What's your calling range most of the time, which flops do you tend to raise with air? Which do you look to float?

When calling a threebet, make a play on a non scary board. Against aggressive player who likes to double barrell postflop, raise him imidiately on the flop to shut him down. Against mediocre players, I prefer floating. I almost never raise them on the flop. That way I get additional information on the turn. I am not comfortable in these situations either. Also, I am not comfortable even calling threebets preflop. I feel that when I don't speculate too much about calling 3bets preflop and just fold a lot to them, I do better then when I do, because I can get in a lot of trouble postflop by making loose calls preflop.

Also, making a play in a 3 bet pot should be an exception rather than your usual play. You just get in too much trouble. Also, your implied odds are not usual as high as you might think when you look down to 9Ts and decide to call a reraise with it.

Some discussion on that would be nice. Great that you started this thread.

Thanks, Odds God, nice to have you around solid contribution. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one uncomfortable in threebet pots!
