    Default ÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ ÉÉÉÉÉ

    Sometimes when Ièm just typing randomly I start to type French accents above the letter E (like that one I just typed) instead of apostrophes and question marks.

    I get this instead of an apostrophe: é

    and I get this instead of a question mark: É

    How the heck do I keep doing this and how do I change it backÉÉÉ (that was attempting to be 3 question marks) It reverts back if I close whatever program or window Ièm using at the time, but itès so freaking annoying!

    Courtie: cant find anything on google relating to it..

    I'd look around in ... Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options see if theres a capability to disable it.

    oh and while this is a canadian thread, i missed the blackhawks/stars game last night (obviously i got cable(sky w/e) and its on at 2am here) and was sooo gutted.

    Do you have the French Canadian keyboard layout installed? It is essentially a QWERTY layout but the '?' is 'É' (among other things). Also the other accent keys are "dead keys." This means that you first press the `or ¸ or ^ (...nothing happens on screen...) and then press the letter key. The chosen letter and diacritical mark then appear on screen: è ç ê

    Hmm I don't know if I have that installed ... if I do, how do I get out of it when it happens? I'd also be interested in knowing how it happens in the first place!

    Hey Spoonitnow, Courtiebee loooves you

    Not sure this is the problem but I figure it is worth to look into it. You can check if it is installed in the control panel->Regional and Language Options,Languages tab, click on Details and it'll show you which keyboard layouts are installed. If it is installed, you can remove it. Just make sure there is another one installed. Once again, I am not sure this is the problem but thought it might be worth a look into.

    Yeah Courts it's the Fernch Canadian keyboard thing doing that to you. Happens to me all the time, it's some kind of hotkey command you're accidently hitting. I haven't figured it out what it is yet though.
