    Default 3-way monster gang-bang - hero w/ QQ

NL10. No real read on either villain. I went from thinking I was way ahead (flop) to almost certain I was behind (turn). Tell me how you would have bet this one.

To help critique my flop bet, I was hoping to keep both villains in the hand and then pray for any non-spade. So it half worked

    CO ($8.97)
    Hero ($10.31)
    SB ($10.62)
    BB ($17.84)

    Pre-flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is BTN
UTG calls $0.1, UTG 1 calls $0.1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.5, 1 fold, BB calls $0.4, UTG folds, UTG 1 calls $0.4

    Flop: ($1.65, 3 players)

    BB bets $4.65, UTG 1 calls $4.65, Hero ($4.65)?

Raising flop makes it so much easier to stack off on turn. I also raise more pre as well. As played I guess push and hope you are ahead/make a FH or quads.

Gotta raise harder on flop. Raise to 2 dollars.

How much pre? Two limpers plus blinds, so I put in 3 BB + a BB for each limper.

    pre-flop is fine.
BUT then you flopped top set, and min-raised on a suited board?!? re-raise to like $2.3 or something

You have implied odds to call

Preflop is fine as daven said but I really think you can raise just a tad more to get more value. I think you can do like 5 BB + a BB...nothing huge but over the long run adds up.

On the turn, I was sick, thinking of how stooooopid that min-raise was. But yes, I had the implied odds. So, I called. River was a 3, pairing the board. So I hit my boat against Js 9s and AQ (Q was spades, for TPTK w/ a flush re-draw for the win over J9s). $30 hand.

So after thanking the poker gods for not kicking me in the groin for my stupidity, I thought I'd post the hand and get commentary. If I re-raise $2 on the flop, J9s drops out, not having odds to chase (and hit!). I guess it's a coin toss if AQ dumps his hand, too.

But the good news with the correctly-sized flop bet is that, worst case, I'm way ahead of one opponent instead of barely in it on implied odds for a half-stack bet.

Finally, thanks for the input. I feel that hands where I pull stupid stunts and lose a stack teach their lessons pretty well. When I make a mistake in a hand and win big, I want to analyze it and figure out what I could have done better.

LOL are you serious!? Are the games so bad these days that 10NL players dump flushdraws if they aren't getting the right pot odds?!

Good point. I might still have won the $30, but it would have been a very different plot line, with the VILLAIN drawing to nasty odds.

LoL - the games are definitely not that bad. The flush chasers will fold to a couple of pot-sized bets, but not much else, imo.

Giving them bad odds and them folding > giving them good odds to keep them in
