Why didn't you think his 3bet was legit?

Can't remember exactely, but I knew I felt this was more a TT-QQ/AK then AA/KK. I think it had something to do that he bet more then when he 3bet before (small sample though). I felt I could take it away from him postflop.

So you think he 3-bets higher with AA/KK and lower with TT-QQ?

This is hard for the forum members to objectively tell if this is spew, since you mainly based your play off of your read. Your read was not particularly detailed.
Without reads, definite spew. With reads maybe not.
His small flop bet looks weak, did he want it to? He has KK or squadoosh.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

Looks like Qs or Js to me. Good spew!

once he checks turn then the bet is good but i think the overall play is spew.

yea, i mean it shouldnt be a standard play but i see nothing wrong with this all. if your opponenet is getting out of hand float him in a 3bet pot...i mean why not. and if you don't plan on making moves every now and then in 3bet pots dont call his 3bet pre.
Flopping quads and boats like its my job

This is fine. Folding preflop is fine too, it all depends on his 3-bet range and how easy we give up on the flop.
Once you call preflop you have to call this flop a lot and I like your turn bet.

thanks for the feedback. I've thought a bit more about it this morning on my way to work and I remember it was 5 handed at the time and I thought I saw him raising a lot more then 6 handed (but it could've been just a good run of cards). Also I have position and thought I could take it away.

I have to call the flop when I call pf and when the flopbet looked a bit weak I decided I was going for the turn reraise if the card was lower T- (or would a flopraise be better?). When he checks the turn I have to bet there. By now I have 11 outs (OESD+7's) + fold equity.

result (not really important, but for those who wonder): he time banked veeeery long and then shoved. I had to call the remaining 40$. river was another 4 and he showed JJ.

This is definitely a good board to make some kind of move on, whether it be on the flop or the turn. the player has to be capable of folding though.

    Massimo is correct.

You didn't have to call anything here. You're beat probably 95% of the time if you're only holding 77, this is a must-fold. You did your best to pick up the pot, it didn't work, now fold.

Also, I'm not sure how relevant this is....but think about your image and why he check/shoved on you in this situation. Think about what type of range he put you on, did he just not believe there was a King in your range?

a quick estimation at the time had me calling 40$ more on a 180$ pot which is just onder 25%. 11 outs is also just onder 25%. I know I don't have to and I considered it briefly, but I felt I had too having put over 2/3 of my stack in.

as to why he shoved, actually I really don't know. I play pretty standard about 18-12 or something like that, haven't been doing this before and I raise from UTG which should get my range some respect with the K out there. The only thing I can think of is that he didn't believe I'd just call if I had hit the king. that's why I thought maybe a flopraise would've been better. It would also had been easier to fold if he shoved there, since I wouldn't get the odds (no OESD on flop yet)...

yeah dont call after he makes it 40 more.
