I mean looking at it from a range perspective it makes absolutely no sense, but you should note that you did instashove this.

I think you are checkraising this flop with a big hand like 100% of the time.

he's not the ideal player to do this against (someone who loves the rush of making a sick call or bluff).

Also, you don't think your hand is a good enough bluff catcher? You think he's doing this with a 9 or a Q and folding?

both very correct. the fact that he bet 2x pot is extremely important

also when ISF told me about this hand, he said that he had done these over pot bets on you before. Can you give all relevant history? Cause i'm sure that not everyone here knows how he plays/how he's been playing lately.

i havent looked him up when he's 2x'd the river before but he has tried it once or twice. i've taken it to mean he's played a decent hand weirdly and its almost always going to be for value, because 2x pot bluffing for such a small pot when your line has repped nothing like a monster seems like a waste even if it could be marginally +ev vs someone like me.

here i decided to try to get him off most of his thin value bets because 66 or 78s for him or something would be an insanely marginal bet so I've taken out calling as an option.

Pretty much when i overbet its almost always a bluff tbh, but when i have history i mix in value.
