    Default Drastic times

    call for drastic measures.

My bankroll is pretty much gone. I played 280 hands this morning and lost 4 buyins, bringing my 4 day total to 17 buyins lost over 5000 hands. The fact that people say 20 Buyins is enough for NL and I lost 17 that fast is mind blowing to me. I have to suck, there's no way about it. No doubt I run bad but I've gotta have some massive spew.

I'm going to post all of my hands (minus the ones I posted in other threads) that I've lost 60BB or more in over the last 4 days. Some I know I misplayed pretty bad.

#5: Villain is standard TAG for these levels. I figured I have good fold equity with the raise and when he pushed I think the call is a no-brainer.

#16: When hero calls go wrong. This is just terrible, he has all the middle pairs in his range even though it's unlikely he'd bet with it on the river. I guess my thinking was he would only make this bet with a slow played solid hand, or a total bluff with a busted draw, and I figured it was enough a busted draw that I could call.

QFT. If you have less than 20 buyins in your bankroll, move down.
My sig is too much for you to handle.
  5. #5
Yeah, I'm moving down now. I waited until I had 20 buyins for 25NL to do so...are you always supposed to move down if you drop under 20 buyins? I thought you were supposed to start with at least 20 buyins, but not necessarily move down if you drop below it.

Luckily I've got 500 dollars in rakeback coming in at the middle of the month which will help out a bit.

Seems like your running bad, move down if u have less than 20 BI's IMO. Not worth killing yourself over downswings.

if i were rolled for 50nl, which it sounds like you were. ($1250), i would probably move back down once i got to $950 or $1000, depending on how much you are willing to risk.

Some of those hands are bad and you seem to know which ones. For the most part you're losing because you're downswinging hard. Which sucks, but at least you aren't a bad player.

yeah it looks like you realize that a few of these are not good....but 10 is one of the ones that isnt good. this is awful vs the vast majority of players. I would just call the river, and if i did think there was value in a raise for some reason id make it only like 13 or something and fold to a shove.
also, id be calling #15 for sure getting over 3:1.

most of these are fine though and im sure this downswing will end sooner than later.

Swallow your pride, eat your ego, and drop down. Rebuild your roll, then move back up.
*edit: I guess you already realized this

20 is MINIMUM, but I guess now you know.

Personally, I'm ultra conservative (i have my reasons). I move up when I have 100BI for a given level, move back down when I have 80 BI

Thanks guys. On the plus side, 25NL is easy as hell compared to 50NL. I think 4PTBB/100 8 tabling is about the same level as 2PTBB/100 6 tabling 50NL is. On the minus side, I'm not going to get any better playing against 25NL opponents.
