    Default 22-55

i posted in this forum cause i think it's more pertinent to HS games.

    This is all about 6-max:

    You hold 22,33,44, or 55.

    A. Regular 1kNL player raises on CO or button (assume folds to you)

What do you do if (obviously there can be % like rr 30%, call 10%, fold rest):
    1) you're in SB and BB
    2) same thing except blind is loose donk (unlikely to squeeze you out)
    3) you're on the BB

    B. Same questions except raiser is loose passive donk

    C. Same questions as A except raiser is in EP (MP or UTG) (he's also still a reg )

Dunno if i can comment, only playing 200nl n all but..

Vs a positionally aware TAG opening UTG, i'm calling probably 80% and re popping probably 20% to mix my game up a little.

    Vs a Tag LP open, i'm 3bet/folding 80%, calling 20%.

Vs a donk i call everytime, flop a set and stack-a-donk.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

    It depends.

    I win
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

nutsinho, why are you folding c)?

Shouldn't we be MORE willing to call with our low pairs if a reg is opening from EP since his range is narrower and more likely stronger hands?

I generally call EP raises with small pairs and 3b/fold when a LP player opens.

I think that many players now-a-days open wide enough and play good enough where it just still isn't profitable. Keep in mind that 22-55 have absolutely 0 SD value against an UTG raise from an aggressive player without hitting a set on a 10 out draw.

Yah this is true. I'm trying to figure out if its more profitable to be calling these low pairs against an aggressive opponent who is more likely to barrel a rag board, or one who might give up after you call the flop bet on a rag board.

Our low pairs have less value on their own in the first case, but more set value, and the opposite is true in the second case. Not sure which outweighs the other. The first case is probably better just because we probably make a lot more when we have our set.

Whether or not I threebet 22-55 depends a lot on how tight their threebet calling range is and how aggressive they are postflop. If they aren't the type to get it in quick without the nuts and are folding to a lot of threebets then 22-55 are pretty soild specimens to threebet.

But as Lukie said, it depends a lot on your strategy and their strategy.
