Cbetting after 3betting AK and missing?

I've heard arguments for and against cbetting AK (after 3betting pre) on flops which don't bring paint or a flush draw (for you), but I can't seem to find any real threads about it. Anyone want to share thoughts about this?

EDIT: obviously don't cbet calling stations when you totally miss

Idunno really, I'd read in many places that cbetting after 3betting is generally very profitable but I've been experimenting a bit lately and it hasn't turned out that great for me. Still a small sample size but honestly, I've been c/r'ed nearly 1/2 the times. So cbetting more without position and less with makes sense.

What sort of read are you looking for dozer? Seems to me that the type of player who will call 3bets light will call cbets light, and the type who calls tight will have a strong hand more often. So what are you looking for?

Mostly I look for how often they fold to flop aggression, and how likely they are to call preflop with AJ+/low PPs. Loose preflop & tight postflop players who haven't yet heard of rule of 10...

Isn't that a tournament thing? I don't know exactly what you mean but all I can think of is the 10xBB threshold for shoving pre, and 'always call his preflop shove if you have 10x his stack'.

he might be talking about the out of date set mining rule of having 10x the bet or raise in each person's stack to justify playing for set value alone. it is confusing though.

Yes this is what I'm talking about.

I see lots of players getting themselves into 3-bet pots with fairly marginal holdings. Rasing 55-99, then calling a 3-bet and giving it up when they miss.

Basically players who don't assess their implied odds well. Loose preflop & tighter postflop.
