    Default I hate this spot

Villain is TAG and seems decent. I really need to learn how to handle these.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP2 ($90.30)
    MP3 ($285.65)
    CO ($99.40)
    Button ($23.60)
    SB ($53.05)
    BB ($99.30)
    UTG ($96.05)
    Hero ($95.60)
    MP1 ($105.55)

    Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K, K.
    1 fold, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, MP3 calls $4, 4 folds.

    Flop: ($9.50) J, 4, 6 (2 players)
    Hero bets $5, MP3 raises to $17

What's the plan for the rest of the hand? Assume the turn and river are blanks.

Don't bet small and induce a raise if you are unsure about how to respond when he does raise.

    Fair enough.

But at any bet size, this is a tough spot. If I'd bet 3/4 pot it'd be the same.

No. This bet sizing is just awful imo, you have either given him the pot or given yourself an excuse to call down when you have two outs. As played I think I just fold and curse myself for betting so small and balancing villains range for him.

If you had bet $7 it's a lot tougher to be bluff raised. It is a very read dependant spot imo, against some tags it's a trivial snap-fold, against others I would call and c/f turn, b/f river.

What i meant is that this spot happens a lot when I bet $7 and my question is, what then?

as badgers pointed out its oppenent and read dependant if you get raised after betting 3/4s pot on a dry flop like this. If hes a decent tag he realises how tight your ep raising range is and i doubt hes raising here without the goods. As played i really dont want to fold just due your weak flop bet and that he could be doing this with a ton of his range. Even so i still fold as you have little invested and the likleyhood he has a set here is high.
"This sure beats Super Mario Bros.!" is my ejaculation catch phrase.

i disagree i think if hes good hell realize that you can continue with like 7% of your range and fuck you in the mouth everytime this situation occurs.

Ok no need to start a new topic. Got the same kind of hand imo. Here i 3b QQ OTB , a pretty decent hand, the _ THIRD _ best hand i no limit holdem poker the cadillac of pokar baby. Anyway i get 2 calls ! cant say im TO HAPPY ABOUT THAT. Anyway i flop topset , but as you can see there is a FD out there and a straightdraw , witch makes me bout a 9:11 :13 underdog if they both have hudge draws. Is this really an easy call? Not sure if its right to stick the rest of my stack in ..

I'm going to go ahead and assume this second hand is a joke.

    Fold obv.

I do think bet sizing is the key here. Maybe. I dunno. Is a PSB out of question here? At $100NL would a decent TAG be prepared to felt Jx here against an EP raiser?
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

yes ;[ i don't know how best to handle this. If I fold I'm exploitable. If I play on then I have to hope he's bluffing.

As I see it I need a read that tells me how often he's doing this sort of thing but that's pretty hard when I'm a multitabling HUDbot.

i'd probably do the call + c/f + b/f line, if his turn bet is consistent with a set. If the turn is a blank and he bets a ton i'd happily ship on him though. On this dry of a board people try to really string you along with their turn bet sizing when they have a set.

i think you should figure it out yourself and quit being a little girl and asking everyone to hold your hand.
