I'm f'n lost putting an unknown on a range here.

88/99 seems most likely. TT/JJ is probably going to keep up the passive line on the river. 8d9d/TdJd also possible. A bad villain may play a missed FD like this, but I'd give that less weight than the many other hands that beat you.

So I vote fold (this coming from my FR-oriented brain). Too nitty for 6-max?

Looks like a horribly played set tbh, or something like 8d9d like dozer pointed out. Ad9d is possible, as are other missed FDs, but I don't think you're ahead a lot here.

It's either a missed flush or straight draw, or a guy who fell into a pot of gold by accident. Against someone I knew was bluffy and bad I'd look him up. This situation, against an unknown - I probably just fold it. There's a wide assortment of hands he could have hung around with that are now ahead of you & that he would make this value bet with on the river, with a reasonable expectation of getting paid off.

I call this. You're getting good pot odds, you only need to be ahead like 26% of the time.

Is this a missed FD or a worse hand block betting river 26% of the time? It's definitely possible. Worst case scenario is that its marginally -ev, but you gain a lot of info how they either play their really strong hands or missed draws for the future.

Looks like he made his hand on the river. 99/9d8d/JdTd. W/o a read I like mucking here.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

I usually think this is two pair more often than a set. 78, 89, or 79 seem pretty likely. Also has to be a missed flush draw a portion of the time. I can't imagine any reason for a worse hand to feel the need to block bet this river, wouldn't that be pretty terrible?

It's either one pair blocking or some rivered hand (2pair, straight) going to value-town. Heck, it could also be a busted draw.

With no reads, meh, I'd look it up with QQ but fold A9, if that makes any sense.

I think mathematically you have to make a crying call, however expect to see 87suited to be flipped over a lot.. with no reads hard to say.

In a weird way, I feel like I'd almost call any bet.

The smaller the bet, the better the pot odds so I'd feel like calling.

The bigger the bet, the more I'd feel it was a bluff shove, so I'd feel like calling.

    hmmmm....
