Okay. He folded after that, thats why i was wondering if I should have just called the flop because of my last position.

I think you played it right. The turn was an Ace which is likely a scare card for your opponent. If you just smooth called the flop, I think your opponent would have checked it to you on the turn and folded to any bet. Plus the raise discourages any flush draws to play since it was a multi-way pot.

keep in mind that dont want to discourage flush draws, we want them to pay the maximum amount they are willing to try to hit while still giving improper odds.

but yeah definitely dont slowplay in an unraised pot, and bet more on the turn

Rarely is the answer to "flopped set.... slowplay?" yes.
Especially in a multiway pot on a two tone board.

Well played, turn can be potted because you want to set up big, fat river bet in case he made two pair and is going all the way or chases frush, and will take even 2:1 odds to make it.

If you limp small pp's, you gotta bet hard when you make your set. It's difficult enough playing sets for stacks after an open limp. You gotta bet every street (and you still need help).

Flying Saucy - in position, slowplaying sets in multiway pots on two-tone boards is bad, yes. But oop, if you're fairly confident of at least one bet behind, check-raising can be perfect. It allows the pot to build a bit, then you can force the remaining players to chase their draws at a premium.
